What we offer

Unique Insurance Options for Athletic Programs

Powered by Sport BC, our brokerage supports the needs of Canadian homeowners and those involved in athletics programs. We cater to members of Canada’s many Provincial, Disability, and Multi-Sport Organizations (PSOs, DSOs, MSOs) with custom insurance plans for protecting the most important parts of your life.

Of course, you don’t have to be involved in sports to benefit from our tailored insurance packages. Rest assured, your patronage allows us to aid local athletic clubs which helps in strengthening the community at large.

Travel Insurance Products

Whenever you travel out of province or internationally, you’ll want to double-check that you’re correctly insured should any emergencies arise. A hospital visit in Washington State, for example, can be costly without medical coverage.

As part of an athletic organization or otherwise, ensure you’re protected before departure against emergency medical costs, flight cancellations, lost luggage, or other disruptions that could derail your plans and drain your funds.

Special Event Liability

If you’re hosting a major gathering, be it a banquet or a hockey tournament, you’re responsible for the welfare of those in attendance. Needless to say, unfortunate mishaps can happen through no fault of your own.

With Special Event Liability coverage, you’ll have financial protection to defend yourself against litigation brought forth by the venue for property damages or a third party claiming a serious injury.

Sport Liability

Your sport organization has a lot of moving pieces. It takes a lot of cooperation to ensure everything goes according to plan. Unfortunately, when things go awry, the repercussions can be costly.

Parties that have sustained injuries or incurred property damage may expect compensation. With SBC Insurance in your corner, you’ll have reliable go-to support. We can discuss a range of options covering everyone from your league operators to the volunteers in attendance.

Participant Accident

Even the safest sport can result in injury. A few bumps and sore muscles may be part of the game, but that doesn’t mean your players should be on their own in terms of seeking treatment.

SBC Insurance works closely with associations and societies across Western Canada to implement comprehensive plans for all participants. We have policies covering everything from dental work and physiotherapy to fracture indemnity and tragedies.

Non-Profit Directors & Officers

Claims of negligence against you or a staff member can be devastating for a non-profit organization. Allegations made against a single board member (present or past) can lead to financial repercussions that could jeopardize your agency’s good work.

In today’s litigious climate, you need a contingency plan for addressing any such potential liabilities, however unlikely they may seem. SBC Insurance will ensure you are prepared to defend and uphold your organization’s integrity and reputation, no matter the cost.

Home Insurance

Chances are you already have some insurance lined up for your home and possessions, but is it the right coverage for you at this stage of your life? You may now be ready for a plan that’s more customized to your current lifestyle.

It won’t take long for a member of our customer support staff to review your existing policy, assess your situation, and lay out your best options. Just because you have insurance doesn’t mean you’re protected against all scenarios. Let us double-check your plan to be sure.

Cyber Liability

We live in an age where even the most recognizable companies are subject to computer hacking. These high-tech security breaches are cause for alarm because your organization is responsible for dealing with the fallout.

There may be significant costs involved in recovering your data and earning back the trust of your stakeholders. Insurance helps lessen the financial blow associated with data recovery, including additional IT costs and legal settlements.
